F.A.Q.

How to get started in choosing what is best for your counter tops with your lifestyle, needs and appearance; with Premier’s assistance we can help you choose between granite, quartz or solid surface.
Below are some questions and answers that might help your process.

What should I bring with me on my first visit?

It helps when you bring your floor and cabinet samples along with your projects measurements.

How will I know the piece of stone is right for me…all those colors?

I’m a firm believer in people ‘knowing their stone’. What we mean is that, when you see it…things fall into place!

There is a spot on the stone that I don’t like. Am I stuck with that blemish?

Usually, NO! Premier takes the time to mark areas that you would like to work around on a stone. If we need to bring in another lot in that same color we will do so.

What about a marking I like on the stone, can I have it on the island?

We encourage you to return after the template has been made so that we can layout the stone together, making you a part of the process and making sure you get exactly what you want out of your stone.

Will my sink ever fall out or drop? What if I fill both sides with water when washing dishes?

Premier Stone uses sink brackets (not clips) in our kitchen sink installations. The only reason for not using our special brackets would be if the cabinet is too small to accommodate our brackets. But we make sure that the sink is secure.

Can I use my sink(s) right away, after installation?

Unfortunately, you will need to wait 24 hours before the plumbing can be hooked up. Premier will be happy to refer plumbers’ names to you.

I bought my house recently and granite was already installed. How do I know when to reseal?

Place a glass of ice cold water on the counter and let it condensate 30-40 minutes, remove the glass and wipe away any water left on the counter. If you find that you have a dark ‘water’ ring then it is time to reseal. You can schedule Premier Stone to clean, repair and reseal your granite.

How long will the whole process take? Will I be without my kitchen for long?

In most cases we can template with your existing countertops in place, fabricate the stone and install approximately a week later (depending on the season), however, every job is different, therefore we treat each job independently.
